About Us:

Reeves International (Reeves) is a construction management company. It has successfully delivered Overseas Development Assistance infrastructure projects in the Asia and Pacific region for the past twenty-five years including a wide range of projects in the education, health and justice sectors. Reeves has worked closely with all levels of Government, contractors and communities in the design and delivery of construction works, capacity development and the management of remote service procurement. Our essential function as construction managers is to take responsibility for the successful outcome of the project; acting as a specialist extension of the Client’s own in-house management team, bringing rigour and experience in delivering complex projects in remote locations.

Post Disaster Reconstruction:

Reeves has valuable experience in post disaster reconstruction that utilizes local community resources.

  • We can quickly mobilise an assessment team to assess the scope of the damage and analyse the local resources available to deal with it, establishing what further resources are required. Analysis will gain an understanding of how the disaster has affected key services, and what local capacity is available to implement a reconstruction programme. Including the types of unskilled and skilled labour available; availability and affordability of building materials in sufficient quantity and acceptable to recipient communities. Understand preferred building and settlement designs and building techniques. As part of disaster risk reduction assess how safe designs and techniques are in relation to local hazards. Address land ownership, title and rights and most importantly ask affected people, how they feel and what they want to see happen.
  • Following assessment and the development of a scope of works, Reeves can mobilise a construction management team to articulate our community involvement methodology and work with local partners to commence the reconstruction process. We will provide technical assistance and capacity-building support to ensure durable structures are managed to time and budget.

Reeves Development Policy:

Reeves has developed strategies to specify how key constraints to sustainability will be managed.

  • Capacity Building: Our principal model is to work with local contractors, suppliers and the community. While utilising their services, we specifically assist in building their capacity to perform their trade or business better.
  • Gender: We understand gender sensitivity and the importance of developing a strategy for greater involvement of women in projects.
  • Health: We utilise our access to construction workers to address gender and health issues such as HIV/AIDs/STI and domestic violence through awareness workshops.
  • Environment: Preventing environmental degradation and taking advantage of opportunities to enhance the environment and adapt to climate change are essential to alleviating poverty. Options are assessed during design development, selecting materials, building systems, construction technology, products and finishes that have a high durability and low probability for damage or frequent replacement as part of disaster risk reduction.
