Project Director – Simon Gorman

simonSimon is a construction professional, specialising in water and sanitation with significant experience in project managing multi disciplined teams in developing countries. Simon is a Project Director of Reeves and provides strong strategic oversight and technical direction to our projects. Simon holds a Bachelor of Planning and Design, a Bachelor of Building and a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Melbourne.

Simon's has significant international experience having spent time in Project Director & Country Director Roles of International Aid and recovery programs in Indonesia, Rwanda, Somalia and Vanuatu. He has managed construction projects in Hong Kong, Pakistan, and New York and lead the construction of numerous commercial, industrial and environmental projects within Australia. He holds special skills in leading multidisciplinary and multi-cultural teams to achieve a common goal with a keen understanding of the special skill sets, and emphasis on gender, and inclusion of all stakeholders required in these types of projects. He is experienced in putting together and leading post conflict and disaster response teams thorough his career.

Recent international projects with Reeves include the role of Project Director on an earthquake reconstruction project in Yogyakarta, which involved construction management of schools and other infrastructure, and included the management of livelihood grants to support small business and other community. He also acted as Project Director of the Vanuatu Schools Project where he enabled extensive involvement of communities in the planning and implementation of the project with a special focus on women's involvement.

Simon is also Managing Director of CCB Envico a mid-sized Australian based construction company specialising in the design and construction of water facilities and environmental infrastructure within Australia and internationally. Recent and current projects carried out by CCB include a Municipal Sewerage Treatment Plant in the Federated State of Micronesia (for ADB), a Sewerage treatment Plant in Shoalhaven (NSW), Wastewater Recycling plants in Cowes and Bendigo (Vic) and numerous large scale pumping stations on the Goldfields Super pipe project.
